Hot stamping and press hardening are one of the key technologies for lightweight solutions in today's automobiles. High-strength components are first heated to the austenitic temperature range in a furnace, then formed and hardened using instant cooling water in an HFM high-speed press. The finished components can also be cut by laser or cutting tools.
